Manilva town is located about 2,5 km from the sea and is a typical white mountain village with small tapas bars and a wine museum.

Sabinillas is a residencial part at the coast where you can find all kind of service, shops and many restaurants.

La Duquesa is the most toursistic part with the beautiful marina, Puerto de la Duquesa. The marina is shown every year on the popular english TV-show, A Place in the Sun.

Culture

Manilva preserves the history of Roman times and the Moors. An Aqueduct and a Roman Sulphur baths are standing unpretentiously and depicting the history that it left behind several centuries before. Baños de la Hedionda, the Roman baths is open to the public.

Manilva is the only town on the coast that grows wine. It is a sweet desert wine made from Muscatel grape. Nilva, is a local wine made from grapes. They offer tours and wine tasting in the wine museum.

Transport and Communications

Manilva is located about 60 minutes with car from Malaga Airport. Gibraltar Airport is 25 minutes away. Most people rent a car to drive from the airport in Malaga and the airport in Gibraltar.

Many people rent the car from Brunos Car. They have their office in the marina of La Duquesa and car pick up at the airports. The airport buses goes to Estepona and from there you can either take the local bus or a taxi.
